Euchre is a trick-taking card game where Jacks are used as the highest cards called bowers. It is played with a deck of 24, 25, 28, or 32 standard playing cards. There are normally four players, two on each team, although there are variations for two to nine players. Players take turns establishing who will control the hand and, therefore, call the trump suit. Teams then attempt to take a minimum of 3 tricks or be Euchrd’. If a team takes 5 tricks, that is called a march.  The game is over when a team reaches 10 points, or whatever number is designated before play starts. Some players will gamble and pay so much per point to the other team.
